07.28.2009 / KETV Back to School Drive
August is here - summer activities are winding down, the sun is starting to set earlier and it is time for students and parents to begin getting ready for another school year. As any parent knows, school supplies are expensive. The KETV Back to School Drive - now in its 11th year - is helping make things easier for families in need during this costly time. First National Bank has supported the drive for nine years and is excited to help out again.
Since June 29th, people from the community have been invited to drop off school supplies at any First National Bank branch in the Omaha metro. If you haven't yet dropped off any supplies but want to - don't worry! Donations will be welcome through August 12th.
Join us on Monday morning, August 3rd, KETV and the Big O! 101.9 will be at our 132nd and Center branch to collect school supplies. Both stations will be broadcasting live from the branch and - whether you are commuting to work or running errands - you can drop off your donations and supplies. It will be a fun morning and it's always exciting to see the tremendous support from the community!
In 2008, the Back to School Drive provided over 9,200 backpacks to needy students and it wouldn't have been a success without the generous support from the community. This year, it's even more important for people to get out and donate. It's a challenging economy and more students are expected to need school supplies this year.
Remember that you can stop by any of the First National Bank branches in the Omaha metro area until August 12th. Monetary gifts are also encouraged, which can be mailed to the Salvation Army, 3612 Cuming St., Omaha, NE 68131.
