07.23.2009 / It is Cox Classic Time!
Today is the day - day one of the Cox Classic! Golfers are getting ready to tee it up while spectators are getting ready to watch some of the best golf around at Champions Run. It is the first round of golf at the Cox Classic and this year, there is an impresive lineup of golfers - some that you may even see playing on the PGA Tour in August.
If you're on the lookout for talent to watch, there are five guys you should definitely want to keep your eye on this weekend:
Kyle Reifers set a new Tour record in July when he went 10 under through a stretch of eight holes at the Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic.
David Branshaw was the runner up from the Cox Classic last year and he's ready to contend again. He recently tied for seventh in the Ford Wayne Gretzky this year. Will he place again this year?
Jeff Gove has the record for number of birdies in 2009 - 202 birdies in 52 rounds. Out of 14 cuts, he has made 12 and is a player you won't want to miss.
Blake Adams is the Tour's longest hitter, and will have to be cautious on Champions Run's shorter holes. He was also the runner up at the Ford Wayne Gretzky this year.
Michael Sim is ranked No. 1 on the money list going into this weekend. The 24 year old recently played with Tiger Woods at the U.S. Open and finished 18th.
Are you watching the Cox Classic? Who do you have your eye on?
