12.14.2010 / Tips to Hosting Guests over the Holidays
With the holidays almost here, you may be planning for a number of guests staying at your house. With the cold weather and the holidays, you may think, What am I going to do with all these people?
We have scanned local events to give you a rundown of fun things that you can do with your guests – or just your family – to get you out of the house and into the holiday spirit:
- Both film and airline buffs will love to see Anakin Skywalker’s Podracer from the Star Wars films at the Strategic Air and Space Museum (sasmuseum.com/exhibits/traveling-exhibits/anakin-skywalkers-podracer/). The exhibit is only running through January 2nd, so the holidays are a great time to go check it out!
- If you want to go to a show, don’t forget to check out A Christmas Carol at the Omaha Community Playhouse, which runs through December 23rd (http://www.ticketomaha.com/tickets/production-details.aspx?prod_season_no=6841).
- Santa’s coming to the Henry Doorly Zoo – every Saturday through December 18th –and he’s going to be swimming with the sharks! Visit (www.henrydoorlyzoo.com) for more information or to catch the show!
- Finally, if you have guests that are staying into the New Year, don’t forget that the Omaha Children’s Museum has the “First Night of Play” (www.ocm.org) and there is also the Holiday Light Festival and the First National Bank Fireworks on the 31st (http://www.holidaylightsfestival.org).
