01.13.2010 / Jays Looking to get Back on Track. From the Creighton Athletic Office, posting by Darian DeVries
It will be a big week for the Creighton Bluejays. And the good news is, we will have a chance to get things back on track at home.
Fox Sports Midwest will televise our game on Wednesday night as we take on Southern Illinois. And then we'll turn around and match up against Wichita State (again) on Saturday afternoon in a nationally televised game on ESPN2.
What is it going to take to win? We need to play to our strengths and get things going on both ends of the floor. Knocking down perimeter jump shots early in the game will help open the driving lanes and increase post-up opportunities. We felt that scoring in transition would be a big strength of ours at the beginning of the year, but really hasn't been to this point in the season. Transition buckets would give our offense a big spark.
Two conference rivals. Two televised games at home. Anticipated sell-out crowds. All reasons to get excited about Creighton Basketball.
We are hoping to play extremely hard, find a way to get two big W's, and give Bluejay fans something to cheer about!
