August is here, and the end of summer is in sight. Still want to have some fun while the sun lasts? There are a number of events going on in late August (and some through the fall) that will let you cram in some last minute fun!
- If you want some fresh produce with a healthy side of people watching, check out one of the many Farmer’s Markets around town – most of them run through October. There’s the Village Pointe Farmer’s Market, the Old Market Farmer’s Market and the one at Aksarben Village.
- Omaha Performing Arts brings back a cherished Omaha event on August 19th at7:30 – Cox Music & Movies! Enjoy live music from some of the area’s hottest bands followed by a classic movie, all in the Holland Center East Lawn. Shrek (PG) and Funk Trek Holland Center East Lawn will be featured.
- Both the Durham and the Joslyn museums their 80th birthday on August 21st with a celebration for the whole family.
- Tempo of Twilight at the Lauritzen Gardens ends on August 23rd with Lemon Fresh Day. Come see the garden at twilight and enjoy some great music with the family.
As we gear up for fall, we have a lot more events to look forward to, like OktoberFest and the Labor Day festival at the Henry Doorly Zoo. What do you plan to do as summer winds up?
