05.27.2011 / Help the Omaha Childrens Museum celebrate its 35th Birthday
Did you know that the Omaha Childrens Museum has been around for 35 years? To celebrate, the museum is hosting the first ever Omaha Childrens Museum Childrens Parade on Saturday, May 28th!
This isn’t just a parade that children get to watch – they get to march! Kids can march in costume, decorate bikes or wagons – anything non-motorized. Parents can push little ones in a stroller or pull them in a wagon. Everyone is invited to show off their imagination in this parade designed just for kids. After the parade there will be festivities in the Museum parking lot – including a 35 Soda Pop Geyser Salute! Visitors can also see the grand opening of Dinosaurs: Dawn of the Ice Age.
Participating is simple:
- Register for FREE at www.ocm.org
- Dress up or decorate your transporation. Now is the time to get CREATIVE!
- Bring strollers, wagons and trikes. (Remember, anything that isn’t motorized!)
- March in the parade downtown, then.
- Enjoy festivities outside the museum and visit the grand opening of Dinosaurs: Dawn of the Ice Age
Before the event, we’d love to hear your stories and memories of the Omaha Children’s Museum. Did you go as a child? Did you take your children? What has been your favorite thing to do at the museum? Share your stories with us by commenting!
