01.20.2012 / Music, Magic and more at the Omaha Symphony in 2012.
It is a new year and the Omaha Symphony is in the midst of a new season! If you love music, magic and amazing performances, this new season is for you! Here is a quick overview of what is in store:
- Mysterioso, on January 21st, is part of the Sights and Sounds series. This spectacular show mixes magic, music, and comedy with an illusionist, magic duo, a comedian, and two quick-change artists. If you like magic and music, this will be a show that you can’t miss!
- Things get Hot, Hot, Hot on February 10-12! The Omaha Symphony will be joined by professional dancers in this tribute to Latin music and dance. Hear rhythm-rich music from Bernstein, Gloria Estefan, and Carlos Santana and much more!
- The Omaha Symphony pays tribute to Hollywood in March with Hooray for Hollywood on March 30th. This concert will feature blockbuster movie music, including memorable scores from Gone with the Wind, The Godfather, and Titanic. There will also be a tribute to masterful composer John Williams with music from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark and more!
- Take a trip down the Yellow Brick Road when the Omaha Symphony accompanies the movie classic, The Wizard of Oz, on April 14th. This combination of film and music will be a treat for the whole family!
- Celebrate the ‘70s with the Omaha Symphony on May 5th! Boogie down with the Symphony to the decade’s best songs from artists like Chicago, Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, and The Eagles.
