03.23.2012 / The Orchid Show at Lauritzen Gardens is this weekend!

Spring is coming! What better way to get into the spirit of spring than to attend the annual Orchid Show at Lauritzen Gardens, brought to you by the Greater Omaha Orchid Society.

"local orchid experts will be available to answer your specific questions about orchids and will provide you with basic care information for these special flowers"

This event is being held Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature orchid displays from local, regional, national and international vendors and growers. You will get the opportunity to see prime specimens of these exotic plants up close and in person. And, prize-winning orchids will be juried by experienced orchid judges sanctioned by the American Orchid Society.

Plus, local orchid experts will be available to answer your specific questions about orchids and will provide you with basic care information for these special flowers such as light, moisture, temperature, air movement, humidity, problems and pests, potting media, fertilizing and repotting.

Standard garden admission rates apply. Members are admitted free.
